TICKET PURCHASE TERMS & CONDITIONS
PLEASE READ THESE TERMS CAREFULLY BEFORE PURCHASING YOUR TICKET. BY PURCHASING, ACCEPTING, OR USING A FIRE & STORY TICKET, YOU AGREE TO THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
1. Tickets and Admission
Fire & Story offers single-day and multi-day tickets. Your ticket is valid only for the date(s) and ticket type purchased and is subject to these Terms & Conditions, the Fire & Story Code of Conduct, and any additional rules applicable to particular activities or areas of the Festival.
Tickets must be presented in the manner specified by Fire & Story and may be scanned or verified upon entry. Wristbands or other credentials issued by Fire & Story may be required for re-entry or access to particular areas.
Fire & Story reserves the right to refuse admission or remove any person who violates these Terms & Conditions, the Code of Conduct, applicable laws, or reasonable instructions of Festival staff, security, emergency personnel, or other authorized personnel.
2. All Sales Final; No Refunds or Exchanges
ALL TICKET SALES ARE FINAL. TICKETS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON-EXCHANGEABLE.
No refunds, credits, exchanges, or replacement tickets will be provided due to weather, changes in Festival programming or schedules, changes in artists or activities, illness, personal circumstances, travel difficulties, failure to attend, or any other reason, except as may be required by applicable law or expressly determined by Fire & Story.
If the Festival, or a portion of the Festival, is cancelled, postponed, interrupted, relocated, or materially modified, any refund or other remedy will be determined by Fire & Story in accordance with applicable law and the circumstances giving rise to the change.
3. Ticket Transfers and Required Waiver
Tickets may be transferred or given to another person prior to the applicable Festival date, subject to any procedures established by Fire & Story or its ticketing provider.
Each person who attends or participates in the Festival must independently accept any liability waiver required by Fire & Story before entering the Festival or participating in an activity for which a waiver is required. Acceptance of a waiver by the original purchaser does not constitute acceptance of the waiver by, or on behalf of, any person to whom the ticket is subsequently transferred.
A transferred ticket may not be used for admission or participation until the person using the ticket has completed any required attendee registration and waiver. Fire & Story may require the ticket holder to provide identifying information and may verify completion of the required waiver before issuing or activating admission credentials.
By accepting a transferred ticket and completing the required attendee registration, the transferee agrees to be bound by these Terms & Conditions, the Fire & Story Code of Conduct, and any applicable activity-specific terms and waivers.
Fire & Story is not responsible for tickets purchased or obtained from unauthorized third parties.
4. Festival Programming and Schedule
Fire & Story is a multi-day festival featuring multiple stages, performances, activities, artists, installations, vendors, and other experiences. Artists, performers, activities, schedules, stages, locations, operating hours, and other Festival programming are subject to change without notice.
No particular artist, performance, activity, experience, or Festival feature is guaranteed. Changes to programming or scheduling do not entitle a ticket holder to a refund or exchange.
Certain activities or experiences may require separate tickets, reservations, age restrictions, waivers, or additional terms and conditions.
5. Weather and Outdoor Event
Fire & Story is an outdoor, rain-or-shine event. Weather and other environmental conditions may affect Festival operations, programming, access, and available activities.
If Fire & Story determines that weather or other conditions create a safety concern, Fire & Story may delay, interrupt, modify, relocate, or cancel programming or restrict access to portions of the Festival grounds. Attendees are responsible for preparing appropriately for outdoor conditions.
6. Code of Conduct
By purchasing or using a ticket, you agree to comply with the Fire & Story Code of Conduct, which is incorporated into these Terms & Conditions by reference.
The Code of Conduct establishes rules concerning, among other things, prohibited items, security screening, smoking and vaping, alcohol and cannabis, acceptable conduct, environmental stewardship, personal property, photography and recording, re-entry, and compliance with directions from Festival personnel.
The current Code of Conduct is available at https://www.fireandstory.com/code-of-conduct. Attendees are responsible for reviewing and complying with the Code of Conduct applicable to the Festival.
Fire & Story reserves the right to deny admission to or remove from the Festival any person who violates the Code of Conduct or whose conduct, in Fire & Story's reasonable judgment, is unsafe, disruptive, unlawful, abusive, threatening, or otherwise inconsistent with the operation of the Festival. No refund will be provided following denial of admission or removal for violation of Festival rules.
7. Security Screening and Prohibited Items
For the safety and security of attendees, staff, artists, and vendors, Fire & Story and its designated security personnel may inspect persons, bags, and other belongings upon entry or while on Festival premises.
By presenting a ticket for entry, you consent to reasonable security screening. Anyone who declines required screening may be denied admission without a refund.
Fire & Story maintains a list of prohibited items, which may include weapons, illegal drugs, alcohol brought from outside the Festival, glass containers, fireworks or other pyrotechnics, drones, certain recording or professional photography equipment, and other items identified in the Code of Conduct.
Prohibited items may be refused entry, confiscated, or otherwise handled in accordance with applicable law and Festival security procedures.
8. Alcohol, Cannabis and Age Restrictions
Alcohol may be served or sold only in designated areas and to persons legally permitted to possess or consume alcohol. Valid government-issued identification may be required.
Guests may not bring alcoholic beverages into the Festival. Smoking or vaping, including cannabis, is prohibited except in areas expressly designated by Fire & Story, if any.
Guests who are intoxicated, impaired, disruptive, or otherwise create a safety concern may be denied service or removed from the Festival without a refund.
Additional age restrictions may apply to particular Festival areas or activities.
9. Personal Property
Attendees are responsible for their personal property and belongings. Fire & Story is not responsible for lost, stolen, damaged, or unattended property.
Any bike storage, coat check, storage area, or similar service provided by Fire & Story is provided as a convenience and does not constitute an assumption of responsibility for the property stored there, except as otherwise required by applicable law.
10. Photography, Video and Recording
Fire & Story and its authorized representatives may photograph, film, record, or otherwise capture images, likenesses, voices, or other recordings of attendees in connection with the Festival.
By entering the Festival, you acknowledge and consent to such incidental recording and grant Fire & Story and its authorized representatives the right to use such recordings for Festival-related purposes, including promotional, advertising, social media, archival, and other lawful purposes, without additional notice or compensation.
The use of professional photography, audio, video, recording, or other equipment may be restricted as described in the Code of Conduct.
11. Separate Liability Waiver
Participation in certain Festival activities may require a separate liability waiver or other agreement. Where required, you must review and separately accept the applicable waiver or agreement before participating in the relevant activity.
The liability waiver is a separate agreement and must be accepted by the individual attendee. Acceptance of these Ticket Purchase Terms & Conditions does not constitute acceptance of, or substitute for, any required liability waiver.
These Ticket Purchase Terms & Conditions do not replace or modify any separate liability waiver or activity-specific agreement.
12. Emergency and Safety Procedures
Fire & Story will have security, medical, fire, production, and other personnel available during the Festival. Attendees must promptly comply with reasonable instructions from Festival staff, security personnel, emergency responders, and other authorized personnel.
In an emergency or other situation affecting public safety, Fire & Story may restrict access to portions of the Festival, evacuate or relocate attendees, suspend programming, or take other reasonable measures to protect attendees and Festival personnel.
13. Environmental Stewardship
Fire & Story is committed to reducing waste and encouraging responsible use of the Festival grounds. Attendees are expected to respect the Festival environment, use designated recycling and composting facilities, minimize waste, and follow applicable "Leave No Trace" and environmental practices communicated by Fire & Story.
14. Email Communications
By purchasing a ticket, you agree to receive emails from Paper Whale Arts concerning the Festival and, where applicable, other Paper Whale Arts activities, programs, or communications. You may unsubscribe from non-transactional marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link provided in the email.
Transactional and operational communications relating to your ticket, Festival attendance, schedule changes, safety information, or other necessary event information may continue to be sent even if you unsubscribe from marketing communications.
15. Changes to These Terms
Fire & Story may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes to the Festival, applicable law, security procedures, or other operational requirements. The Terms & Conditions applicable to your ticket will be those in effect at the time of your purchase, except where a subsequent change is required by law or reasonably necessary for safety or Festival operations.
16. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, Fire & Story, Paper Whale Arts, and their respective owners, officers, directors, employees, volunteers, contractors, agents, participating artists, vendors, sponsors, and venue owners or operators are not responsible for loss, damage, injury, delay, or other claims arising from or relating to the purchase or use of a ticket or attendance at the Festival, except to the extent such liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to waive, release, or limit any right, claim, or liability that cannot lawfully be waived, released, or limited.
17. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, except to the extent applicable law requires otherwise, and all disputes related hereto shall be heard before the courts of Whatcom County, Washington.
